Dr. Vikas Saxena is a seasoned academic leader and researcher with over 23 years of experience in higher education. His work emphasizes creating learner-centric environments that inspire critical thinking and innovation among students and faculty. His research interests include Image Processing and Computer Vision, Software Engineering, and Data Structures.
He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals and conferences such as IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing, IEEE Access, Elsevier Computer Communications, Wiley SPE, and Neural Computing and Applications. His work has also been presented at premier conferences, including IEEE ICC, IEEE INFOCOM, and IEEE SIU.
Dr. Saxena has supervised eight Ph.D. theses, 25 postgraduate dissertations, and over 140 undergraduate projects, in addition to contributing a patent and CST-funded projects. He continues to mentor doctoral scholars and serves as a reviewer for several high-impact journals. Since 2008, he has co-organized the prestigious IC3 Computing Conference with Prof. Sartaj Sahni (University of Florida, USA). Beyond teaching and research, he has held key administrative roles, contributed to national accreditation processes (NAAC, NBA, UGC, AICTE, NIRF), and spearheaded initiatives such as the Digital Learning Centre and the High-Performance Computing (HPC) Centre.
