Biography

Prof. Mukesh Saraswat is a Professor and Associate Dean (Innovation) at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida, with over 24 years of teaching and research experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from ABV-IIITM Gwalior. His research interests include image processing, pattern recognition, and soft computing, with over 90 publications to his credit. He has successfully guided five Ph.D. scholars and is currently supervising two more. Prof. Saraswat has led funded research projects and played key roles in organizing academic events and conferences. He serves as a guest editor for reputed journals such as Array, Swarm Intelligence, SN Computer Science, and Journal of Intelligent Engineering Informatics, and is on the advisory board of MethodsX. He is also a General Chair of the International Conference on Data Science and Applications and series editor for the Book Series on Computing and Intelligent Systems. He is actively involved in student innovation initiatives and professional bodies including CSI and SCRS.

Prof. Mukesh Saraswat’s research contributions span over two decades, focusing on image processing, pattern recognition, and soft computing, with over 90 publications and more than 3100 citations, reflecting his scholarly impact in these domains. His work emphasizes the development of intelligent algorithms and optimization techniques for visual data interpretation, including superpixel clustering, gravitational search-based approaches, and feature selection methods, especially in medical imaging contexts such as histopathological image classification. He has also contributed significantly to the field of digital watermarking and security. Prof. Saraswat has led and participated in multiple funded research projects, including a completed SERB-DST project on histopathological image analysis. His editorial engagements include guest editing for journals such as Array, Swarm Intelligence, SN Computer Science, and Journal of Intelligent Engineering Informatics, along with serving on the advisory board of MethodsX. He is also a General Chair of the International Conference on Data Science and Applications and the Series Editor for the Book Series on Computing and Intelligent Systems. Through his roles as editor, reviewer, and conference organizer, Prof. Saraswat has played a key part in fostering scholarly discourse and research dissemination in the field. His interdisciplinary approach and consistent contribution to high-quality research underscore his leadership in advancing AI-driven image analysis and intelligent computing systems, making a significant impact on both academic and applied fronts.
