Ashish Goel was born in Rampur, (U.P) India. He received his B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Institute of Engineering Technology Bareilly, India in year 2002. He has received his M.Tech and Ph.D. degrees from Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida, India in year 2004 and 2013 respectively. He joined, ECE department of JIIT, Noida as a faculty member in year 2004. He is having a teaching experience of 21 Years at JIIT, Noida. Prof. Goel has published more than 25 research papers in indexed journals, contributed to book chapters, and presented his work at several national and international conferences. His research interest includes high speed wireless communications systems (4G, 5G and 6G systems) and approximation of Gaussian Q function. Prof Goel has supervised two Ph.D., ten M.Tech and more than sixty B.Tech students. He has organized many workshops and faculty development programs at JIIT.
Research interest of Prof Goel lie in the area of wireless communications. His PhD research work was focused on designing efficient schemes for reducing PAPR and ICI of 4G wireless communication systems. Novel contribution of his research work was to design generalized companding transforms for PAPR reduction of OFDM systems and to design a joint scheme for PAPR reduction and ICI cancellation in OFDM systems. Many schemes are also developed by Prof. Goel to eliminate the requirements of side information for SLM and PTS based OFDM system. Besides this, two PhD theses have been completed in the area of (i) PAPR Reduction Techniques for Efficient Performance of OFDM system (ii) Performance Analysis of OCDM for High Speed Communication System. Currently one of his research scholars is working on approximation of Q function and its applications. Many novel Gaussian Q function approximations are developed for better accuracy and applicability.
