
Himanshu Agarwal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Sector 62, Noida. Before joining JIIT, he was an Assistant Professor (Aug 2014–Sept 2016) in the Department of Applied Science (Mathematics), Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi.
Himanshu completed his Ph.D. (July 2009–Feb 2015) at the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. He was a visiting research student at the Applied Computer Science Department, The University of Winnipeg, Canada (Sept 2012 to Feb 2013). During his Ph.D. tenure, he received MHRD, UGC, and Canadian Commonwealth fellowships. He earned his M.Sc. degree in Industrial Mathematics & Informatics from IIT Roorkee in 2009 with a CGPA of 8.96. He qualified several national-level tests: JAM (2007, AIR 113), GATE (2009, AIR 15), and NET-JRF (2009, AIR 210).
Himanshu’s research and teaching interests are interdisciplinary, spanning Image Processing, Watermarking, Machine Learning, Mathematical Analysis, Probability, Statistics, Differential Equations (Partial and Stochastic), Data Science, Number Theory, Simulation, and Computer Programming. He has supervised two Ph.D. students and three M.Sc. students and has co-authored about 25 research papers. His research work includes collaborations with renowned researchers from India, the USA, Singapore, and Malaysia.
