Dr. Gorav Kumar Gugliani is an accomplished academic with a strong background in engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal. Furthering his expertise, he earned a Master of Technology in Ceramic Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. Dr. Gugliani's academic journey culminated in a Ph.D. in Thermal & Fluid Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, BHU, Varanasi.

His contributions to the field are noteworthy, with 14 articles published in respected SCIE/Scopus journals. He has also authored a book, been granted one design patent, and has one published patent. Dr. Gugliani's research has been presented at six international and national conferences, showcasing his active involvement in the academic community. He has also demonstrated his technical proficiency by qualifying for the GATE exam three times and has earned a silver badge for completing NPTEL courses in Advanced Robotics and Wheeled Mobile Robots etc.

Research Highlights

Wind Energy and Probabilistic Modelling Dr. Gugliani's research has a strong focus on wind resource assessment and probabilistic modelling. He has authored several high-impact papers in journals like Renewable Energy and Stochastic Environmental Research and Risk Assessment. His work includes developing novel methods to assess wind resources in terms of speed, load, and power, and comparing different multi-parameter probability models for accurate wind resource assessment. A notable highlight is his development of a novel month-based turbine performance index to identify optimum wind turbine parameters for varying climates. He has also explored using Simulated Annealing and Generative Adversarial Networks for enhanced wind data imputation.

Materials and Manufacturing Dr. Gugliani's expertise extends to advanced materials and manufacturing processes. He has published research on the mechanical behaviour of additive-manufactured (3D-printed) Kevlar fiber-reinforced composites, specifically examining their tensile properties and impact performance. This work contributes to the field of advanced composites and their potential in additive manufacturing. He also has a granted patent for a "Hybrid building block comprising recycled plastic and enhanced structural properties," showcasing his innovative work in sustainable materials.

Heat Transfer and Fluid Dynamics His research also delves into heat exchanger modelling and fluid dynamics. His papers in journals like the Heat and Mass Transfer, Journal of Advanced Research in Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Sciences, and Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer Research focus on experimental heat transfer analysis of helical coiled tubes. This includes suggesting new correlations to determine Nusselt numbers for both shell and tube sides in coiled heat exchangers, providing valuable insights for thermal engineering design.
