Biography

Dr. Nilu Choudhary is at present working an Assistant Professor (Senior grade) at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida. She has previously worked at SRMSCET Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Birla Balika Vidyapeeth Pilani, Rajasthan and several other engineering colleges in NCR region. She has over 30 years of experience in higher education, specializing in Socio- linguistics, English Literature and Communication. She completed her doctoral research in Socio-linguistics from Patna University. She has completed her postgraduate and Undergraduate degree from the same University. She has designed and taught various courses such as English, Professional Communication, Business Communication, Introduction to Literature, Organizational Psychology, Disaster Management, Theatre and Performance, Group and Cooperative process and Life Skills. She has translated Latin American short stories from English to Hindi and published in National Newspaper and Literary magazine. International publications on socio-linguistics and trauma of Partition are among her scholarly accomplishments. She has organized an international conference on Translation across Cultures: Dissolving Boundaries – Creating Harmony “and conducted workshop on computational Linguistics. She worked and fulfilled various other responsibilities as hostel warden, Cultural Faculty in charge, Counsellor and Mentor. She is committed to develop holistic development of learners by inculcating values and education samskara.

Dr Choudhary has Co-ordinated “College to Corporate Program-Soft Skills “Conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Bombay ,from September 7,2017 to November 12,2017

Research Highlights

Dr Nilu Choudhary research area is Sociolinguistics, Literature, Translation and Business Communication. She has translated Latin American short stories from English to Hindi, Linguistic Coding of Social Information and Mechanism by which Social Categories Affect the Communication Process, CHARACTERISTICS OF INDIAN ENGLISH where she attempts to present a review of the studies done on Indian English and aims to assist the bilingual translator involved in translation of any English corpora. Her work has been published in prestigious journals, Newspaper and Literary magazine like International Research Journal of Humanities, Engineering and PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES, International Journal of English Language and Translation studies , Re-Markings , Muse India e-journal, HANS and National Newspaper Jansatta. Dr. Choudhary is currently supervising one PhD scholar in the department of Humanities & Social Sciences.
