Biography

Dr. Neha Singh is an ICSSR Post-Doctoral Fellow and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Kanpur University. She has over 8 years of teaching and research experience. Her core areas of interest include gender studies, public finance, development policies, public policy, the industrial sector, and sustainable development.

Dr. Singh research contributions have been widely recognized through publications in reputed national and international journals. She has also presented and published several research papers in the proceedings of various national and international conferences. Her academic work reflects a strong commitment to interdisciplinary approaches in understanding development and policy frameworks.

Dr. Neha Singh’s research primarily focuses on gender studies, public finance, development economics, and sustainable development with an interdisciplinary approach to public policy and governance. Her academic contributions reflect a strong orientation toward issues of social empowerment, financial inclusion, and welfare maximization. She has explored the dynamics of women’s empowerment through skill development initiatives, notably analyzing schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and STEP, emphasizing their role in enhancing psychological and economic independence of women, particularly in marginalized communities.

Her recent research extends to the financial inclusion of street vendors under PM-SVANidhi and the social security and wellbeing of the elderly in slum areas, both funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). These projects highlight her commitment to linking policy evaluation with grassroots realities, offering evidence-based insights for inclusive development.
