Biography

Dr. Arti Noor is currently holding the position of Dean & HoD, ECE Department, Wish Town Campus, Noida. Dr Arti Noor received her Ph. D degree in 1990 from IIT, BHU, Varanasi.She has 34 years of work experience in Research and Academic. She started her career as Scientist-B in IC Design Group, CEERI, Pilani in 1990, and continued till 2005 as Scientist E. In May 2005 she Joined CDAC Noida and superannuated as Sc. G in June 2024. She joined Jaypee Institute of Information Technology in July 2024 as Dean Academic Affairs at Wish Town, Sector-128, Noida.

She is a senior technologist specializing in VLSI design, embedded systems, and cybersecurity. With a career spanning CEERI, Pilani and CDAC, Noida, she has worked on a broad range of national R&D projects including CMOS technology characterization, Hindi speech synthesis processors, and cyber security capacity building. Her research contributions include sensor design, microprocessor architecture, and FPGA-based system development, as well as studies in social media threats and legal frameworks in cybersecurity. she has collaborated with various government agencies to promote innovation, skill development, and indigenous electronics design in India.

Research Highlights

Dr. Arti Noor’s research  area is centered in the field of Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI), with a focus on both theoretical and practical advancements in the design and implementation of integrated circuits. The research focuses on

  • Exploring of design methodologies for optimizing chip performance, area, and power through both semi-custom and full-custom design flows. This includes architectural design, layout strategies, and design-for-testability techniques for application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions.
  • In-depth analysis and modeling of semiconductor process technologies. This includes studying the electrical, thermal, and timing characteristics of modern CMOS and emerging device technologies to enhance design accuracy and yield.
  • Design techniques at circuit, logic, and architectural levels to minimize power consumption without compromising performance, which is especially important for mobile, embedded, and IoT applications.
  • Design and prototyping of hardware systems that integrate complex digital and analog components. This includes FPGA-based design, Embedded based system and Digital Signal Processing to provide low-cost boards for engineering students to do hands on and enhance basic electronics working skills.
  • As hardware becomes a prime target for attacks, she investigates secure hardware architectures and countermeasures against threats such as side-channel attacks, hardware Trojans, and reverse engineering. Her research supports the development of trusted and resilient computing platforms.
